Every year, a group of SWIFT Running Club members participate in Belgium’s most famous race, the Brussels 20Km, which runs through the heart of the city.

As well as taking on the challenge of crossing the finishing line – and maybe even exceeding our personal best- this year, we are also supporting a good cause: the UNITED FUND for BELGIUM (UFB), which is a project to increase mobility for handicapped people in Belgium.

There are 43 motivated SWIFT runners who have signed up for the race with UFB, and are currently training hard and raising funds for this worthy cause.

Social Media - SWIFT

The days of finding a job with only a perfect CV and motivation letter are long gone. While those certainly remain important, job hunting these days needs to take into account so much more. Social media profiles and online commentary contribute to your e-reputation, something potential employers are sure to investigate.

Having no digital footprint at all is equally suspicious, especially in professional circles related to marketing and technology.

Before I came to SWIFT, I was looking to find a place where I could see the bigger picture of the financial services industry. I had studied finance and economics, and interned for a couple of banks, and although exciting, each placement offered only one specific view of the business. I wanted a broader scope, a diverse series of viewpoints and the opportunity to see things from any and every angle. That’s where SWIFT came in.

New regulations change the way our clients do business, and we must adapt to guarantee excellence of service at all times.

Banks for a Better World

This post is about the “Banks for a Better World” Innotribe incubator project. Innotribe have showcased it at the “Future of doing good” session at Innotribe@Sibos 2012 in Osaka, where we had the privilege of having Prof. Yunus on the panel. The event was exciting in itself, but what is even more exciting is that there is a traction to continue the project and concrete ideas about how to do so.

Ah, the interview, a crucial and often final step in a company’s decision to hire someone. It can be terrifying confrontation between fantasy and reality: What the employer had imagined you were based on what he’d seen from your CV and cover letter, and how you had imagined you would perform for the first time under pressure.

It’s important to not let the pressure get you. The value of having less stuff to worry about cannot be overestimated. Research has shown that anxiety turns off the reasoning part of the brain.
